Know how your coverage works

Helping you get the medicine you need is a top priority for us. Let’s explore the different ways you could receive EXDENSUR and how your health plan may cover it.

You may be able to receive EXDENSUR in one of two ways

Your doctor's office

What you need to do:

  • Schedule your appointment with your doctor, whose office arranges to acquire a supply of EXDENSUR.
  • Depending on your insurance, you may or may not have out-of-pocket costs.

How insurance covers this:

  • Your doctor will bill your treatment under your insurance.
  • Insurance plans vary. Together with EXDENSUR can help you understand the estimated costs before your visit.

After you get there:

  • Your doctor administers EXDENSUR during your appointment.
  • The doctor’s office sends a bill to your insurance for the cost of EXDENSUR and its administration. Your insurance then processes the claim and pays the doctor.
  • Depending on your coverage, you may be responsible for a copay, which you would pay directly to the doctor’s office at your visit or after receiving a bill. If you are enrolled in the EXDENSUR Copay Program, your doctor’s office will collect your copay card information to apply to any out-of-pocket responsibility.
Alternative site of care (ASOC)

What you need to do:

  • You and your doctor decide that you’ll receive EXDENSUR at a different location (an “alternate site of care”).
  • The ASOC may be an infusion center or other location in your health plan’s network where you can receive injections.
  • Make an appointment at an ASOC that administers EXDENSUR. Together with EXDENSUR can help you and your doctor find a suitable location.
  • Go to the ASOC on the scheduled day for your treatment.

How insurance covers this:

  • ASOCs will usually bill your treatment under your insurance, just like your doctor's office would.
  • Insurance plans vary. Together with EXDENSUR can help you understand the estimated costs before your visit.

After you get there:

  • A healthcare professional at the ASOC will administer EXDENSUR.
  • The ASOC sends a bill to your insurance for the cost of EXDENSUR and its administration. Your insurance then processes the claim and pays the ASOC.
